Hihi! Keep up with the blog- it's now in video form and therefore requires less effort for you to experience (although it does take a certain amount of time). Here's the latest video- at least just watch it for the 8.8 second intro:

I just want to draw attention to how productive I've been this week:

That list from beforeCollapse )

All that and two evenings of Panto and hanging out with Pantees. Yay! On Tuesday night we went to Fast Eddy's and Bradley and I had breakfast food at 11pm or so. Yaay. Eggs.

Kira and I went shopping and lunching today and also I got my hair cut. I suppose I should show you:

Look at me. LOOK. at MEE.*Collapse )
I expected to pwn the obligatory hair-cut small talk today, given the talking-with-strangers suitability of my current situation, but my hair dresser didn't want to say anything beyond "Has this been straightened?" and "Your hair is very naturally straight". It was pretty loud in the salon, so fair enough. But yay/boo.

I hate our printer.

Tonight I'm going to Lana's going away/birthday party. Tomorrow I will be packing. I should really start that now. Haaaargh.

*That's supposed to sound like Grampa Joe from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, just after he gets out of bed.

Here is an interesting thing I read that I tried to link obvacado to, but she's not part of the community it was in so copypasta hooray:
HoorayCollapse )

Saw most of the Pantees for the last time before I go, last night D: The read-through was fun and funny. The new people seem promising, in general. What I like about Introduction Games in Panto is that going around in a circle with everybody stating their names, something interesting about themselves, and what they would do with $5 is like 20 minutes of variety comedy with Pantees, rather than a formality. Everybody aims to get a laugh, and succeeds (okay, maybe 95% of people).

Here are some of the photos I took yesterday:
yaayCollapse )

Okay. I have to clean my rooms.

I am currently sitting on the Reid lawn like a boss, enjoying the sunshine and hoping someone I know will walk past, see me, and say hi (/bye). There are three hours before the Panto casting/readthrough meeting, and two hours before I said I'd meet Sam and Adam (the directors) either to record my part (I'm the starship's PA system) or to figure out how to record my part in the near future. My computer's mic might be enough, but it might not. Idk where I'm supposedly meeting them, or if they've remembered to meet me, but I'm not really stressing about it.

Today, in too much detail because I can never seem to strike a balance in my blogging.Collapse )

I am a terrible LJ-er. I don't like that.

My past month has been a bit mad. I have done some things that are nice and some things that are stressful and I have been sad and excited and happy and terrified. I leave in seven days.

I bought a backpack and some srs bsns walking shoes today. All were less expensive than I was anticipating, so I am pleased. One of the pairs of shoes is pretty ugly (they're white with baby pink and blue stripey bits, for one thing), but so comfy it's like having your feet cuddled, and I can't bypass that sort of comfort. Also velcro is involved.

Also, Dad informed me yesterday that he is no longer okay with leaving me after two weeks travel together, as was planned, and will now be accompanying me for the full four weeks of pre-uni traveling. I have mixed feelings about this. I think they are mostly positive. Benefits include the decision to spend another five days or so in Turin, where we will be staying in Dad's cousin's apartment and therefore not paying for hotel rooms. Mmm. Especially good because I didn't really know where I was going to go after San Marino. I was sort of excited about doing San Marino on my own though. O for my independence. Dad's work situation is awful at the moment so I'm glad he's staying for four weeks just for his own emotional well-being :P

Kira and I had our going-away party yesterday. It was great. It lasted eight and a half hours :) Pizza and revelry was involved. Also Star Trek and The Lizzie McGuire Movie and our own Vuvuzela Symphony Orchestra. I made this cake:

It's a Very Dense Black Forest.

I have a new camera. Its name is Lloyd. It is pretty great. Here is a photo of Aly and I being Super Attractive/Looking as though we've never left our house.

My week is going to be insane. Here is why-

You guyyyyyys I didn't fail anything this semester \o/.

After a torturous wait of 18 minutes to get to my results through the website, I came across the mostly pleasant surprise of these numbers:
-Contract Law: 69. Credit. This is one mark off a Distinction, which is RIDONK, because I was doing so incredibly averagely in the assessments, missed a couple of weeks of classes, barely did my readings (though occasionally I was super diligent with tute preparation readings) and was absolutely floundering coming up to the exam (though I felt reasonably confident during/after the exam). I would not have been surprised at a fail or a low pass for this unit. I guess scaling worked in my favour.
-Torts Law: 75. Distinction. I actually teared up a bit at this. It's my highest law mark so far. If I recall correctly I got a high Credit for my assignment, and I wasn't very confident after the exam. But throughout the semester I felt like I understood the content, and was a pretty great contributor in the small group classes (which counted for a fair portion of the mark) during the weeks that I wasn't falling asleep on my desk/absent due to Panto-related exhaustion. I am pleased.
-Religion (Anthropology): 74. Distinction. Ngl I'm sort of disappointed I didn't manage a HD in this unit, from the perspective I had at the beginning of the unit. I loved it so much, the content was super interesting, and I was on fire in the tutes. But I didn't put as much effort into the assessments as I could and should have so I think this mark is pretty much what I deserve. Given I was utterly freaking out about my take-home exam essays (worth a combined 50%) and believed toward the end that I could potentially fail, this is great. Also lol I did better in Torts than in Religion. Would not have expected that. Bad, Arts student, Bad!
-Italian Intermediate I: 91. High Distinction. I must have really bombed my last two assessments :/ (By 'really bombed' I mean 'got lower than 90 in')

So, Sigh Of Relief time. I'm sort of mad at myself that I didn't get a Pass or worse in anything because my studently ways were SO ABYSMAL this semester, I'm pretty sure I deserved worse results just for the kick in the pants they'd administer. Then again my standards for myself are probably too high. Oh well.

Also I award myself an HD in Life, Social Interaction, And The Respective Enjoyment Thereof for this semester, so I'm pleased with that :)

I have so many things to update on. But we'll leave it at this for now. I need to get up tomorrow to bake a cake. Yay.
